Day 1: Fly to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
Begin your journey in Johannesburg with a scheduled flight from OR Tambo International Airport to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. You will be met and transferred to the Umkumbe Safari Lodge.
Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located in the Sabi Sand, considered by many to be the premier wildlife reserve in South Africa. Located on the banks of the seasonal Sand River, Umkumbe Safari Lodge is perfectly situated in one of the best Big Five game viewing destinations in Africa.
The lodge consists of 10 chalets/rooms with most overlooking the Sand River. Guests regularly see elephants, hippos, buffalo and antelope grazing in the river bed. Additional facilities include a swimming pool, lounge, bar and dining area and the traditional boma, where guests will be served delicious and hearty South African meals.
Day 2-3: Game Drives, Environmental Walks & Relaxation
Enjoy rewarding game viewing on morning and afternoon drives as you explore this striking & dramatic wildlife reserve for the Big 5 and hosts of other classic African animals. The Sabi Sands is a private game reserve, this means night drives, guided bush walks and ‘off-roading’ for up-close views of Sabi’s legendary wildlife are just some of the advantages you will be privy to.
Day 4: Depart
This morning you will enjoy a final breakfast and perhaps a last game drive before you transfer to the airstrip to catch a flight back to OR Tambo Airport for your outbound flight back home.
