Day  1: Arrival Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Fly into Victoria Falls Airport. Upon arrival, get through the immigration and customs procedures. You will then get a  pick up and transfer to your hotel – A’zambezi River Lodge . You are booked on a bed and breakfast basis for the next 2 nights.

The a’Zambezi River Lodge is, as its name indicates, is located on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe. It is one of a handful of lodges in the Victoria Falls region that is situated on the banks of the Zambezi, one of Africa’s giant rivers.

It is a 3-star establishment, offering comfortable accommodation to families, couples and singles enjoying the scenic beauty of the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The Lodge with its traditional thatch architecture, is just 5 km from the famous Victoria Falls.

Day 2: Morning Tour of Vic Falls – Evening Zambezi River Cruise

After breakfast you will be picked up for a tour of Victoria Falls. You´ll tour the Zimbabwean side, for there are numerous spectacular vantage points along the width of the fall. We´ll walk through the permanent, beautifully misty rain forest which flanks the fall, which includes the Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Rainbow Falls, the Boiling Pot, Cataract Island and Livingstone Island. The Victoria Falls are Zimbabwe´s most famous attraction.

Late afternoon pick up for a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River. On arrival at the jetty, you are greeted with a cold cocktail and the sounds of African music. A full bar on both upper and lower deck serve a selection of cocktails, iced drinks and a variety of snacks.

In the fading twilight hours, take a sunset cruise. Heed the call of Africa while sipping traditional cocktails and enjoying light snacks. – Return to your hotel A’zambezi River Lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Drive Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park, Botswana

Early breakfast at the hotel in Victoria Falls. After transferring to Botswana the rest of the morning will be spent game viewing on a Chobe River cruise. After the cruise, at about 12.30 you will be taken to a hotel on the river bank for lunch – Chobe Safari Lodge.

After lunch you will board safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park
where there is an abundance of wildlife. Shortly after sunset return to Chobe Safari Lodge for and dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Road Transfer to Vic Falls – Evening flight to Nairobi, Kenya

You are woken at dawn and after a quick cup of tea embark on another game drive in the Chobe National park. Needless to say, mornings are often the best time for game viewing. Return to the border at about 9 a.m to catch your transfer to your hotel in Zimbabwe – Azambezi River Lodge.

In the late afternoon transfer to the airport for flight  to Nairobi, Kenya. There only 3 flights per week – Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.  Take a 4 hour 30 minutes flight to arrive Nairobi in the late evening – around 2200 hours.

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, met by Hallmark Travel Planner’ escort and transfer to the  hotel. Overnight at Tamarind Tree  Hotel Nairobi.

Day 5: Morning in Nairobi. Afternoon Flight to Masai Mara

Sleep-in and take a late after breakfast, rest till lunch time before pick pick up from your hotel in Nairobi by Hallmark Travel Planners’ representative for the transfer to the airport for the afternoon flight to Masai Mara.  It is a 1 hour flight to the reserve. You will be meet by your driver-guide at the airstrip.

Enjoy your first game drive on the way to the lodge to check in just before sunset.  Dinner and overnight at Mara Engai Tented Camp

Day 6 and 7: Safaris in Maasai Mara

You will have 2 full days of safari activities. Either full day game drives with picnic lunches or 2 extended game drives with a lunch break in between.

The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain’s game including the black-maned lions, leopard and cheetah. It also has numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife available in Kenya. You will have 3 game drives during the day and will also be able to enjoy the rich, tree studded grassland and rolling hills. Alternatively, you can opt for full days of game drives taking picnic lunch boxes from your lodge.  All meals and overnight at Mara Engai Tented  Camp.

Day 8: Drive from Masai Mara to Shores of Lake Victoria

Early morning game viewing drive at the Masai Mara Game reserve. Breakfast follows.  Later depart Maasai Mara and proceed to the Lake Victoria in Tanzania. The drive is via the Isebania Kenya / Tanzania border town.

After customs and immigration procedure, you will be met by our counterparts from the Tanzania partner office and drive to the South-Eastern bay of Lake Victoria. Arrive at your lodge late afternoon. Relax on the shores of this lake which is rich in history. The breeze is refreshing. If you have time, you may visit the Bunda Market.  Dinner &  overnight at Serenity on the Lake Lodge.

Day 9: Drive Lake Victoria to Serengeti

Depart the shores of Lake Victoria after breakfast.  With game drive en route, you will arrive Serengeti in time for lunch at Serengeti Mawe Tented Lodge.

Serengeti National Park is one of the best-known wildlife sanctuaries in the world, and was recently declared as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa. The name comes from the Maasai ‘Siringet’, meaning endless plains and is equal in size to Northern Ireland. The Park contains an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in seasonal migration which makes it one of natures’ wonders.  Later, take an afternoon game drive.  Dinner and overnight Serengeti Mawe Camp.

Day 10: Game Drives in Serengeti

Full day of  game viewing activities,  with optional of packed lunch or return to the lodge for Lunch and proceed with afternoon game drive in endless plains of Serengeti national Park till sunset.It covers an area of about 14763sq kms, with various vegetation, grassy plains, savannah acacia lands, wooden hills and mountains which are the backdrops for an extraordinary concentration of animals which reaches its peak during the wildebeest migration.

It is said to be around 2 million of wildebeests in Serengeti that migrate every year from Massai Mara plains. Serengeti is among of the world’s remaining natural wildlife refuges. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Mawe Camp.

Day 11: Drive from Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, depart Serengeti National Park driving to Ngorongoro Conservation area via Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains.

Continue driving to Ngorongoro to arrive for lunch. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge.

Day 12: Tour of Ngorongoro Crater

Today will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a full day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food.

Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge.

Day 13:  Drive Ngorongoro  to Lake Manyara

After breakfast at Ngorongoro, depart with picnic lunch boxes  and proceed to a full day game drive in Lake Manyara National. Just before sunset, drive to Isoitok Tented Lodge, arriving in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Drive Lake Manyara – Nairobi – Depart

After breakfast at the lodge, depart for Nairobi via Arusha. Enjoy a hot lunch at a restaurant, then proceed to Namanga – Kenya Tanzania boarder town.   After immigration and customs procedures at the border, you will proceed to Nairobi. Drive to the Carnivore Restaurant for dinner before transfer  to the airport for flight out of Africa.
