Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo, Madagascar

Arrival at the International Airport of Madagascar where you meet the travel agent, get transferred to your hotel. Check-in. Dinner and overnight at TAMBOHO Hotel.

Day 2: Drive Antananarivo – Antsirabe ( 170 Kms / 3h drive)

After healthy breakfast check-out from hotel as you head to Antsirabe discovering terraced field anda gorgeous scenic drive. First stop at Behenjy to taste the local gastronomy of the famous duck liver.

Have a break again at Ambatolampy and visit craft aluminum cooking-pot foundry. Lunch at the restaurant. Antsirabe is known as the thermal city and the capital of pousse-pousse (the rickshaws.)  Dinner and overnight at  HOTEL PLUMERIA.

Day 3: Day in Antsirabe – Tours

After breakfast in the hotel, enjoy your debut of journey to visit the Tritriva Lake with its mystery. Lunch at the restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit workshops of semi-precious stone artists, zebu’s horn, embroideries, and Malagasy candy.  You may be interested on riding on the rickshaw, locally known as
« pousses-pousses ». Amaizing surprises awaits you. Dinner and overnight at Hotel PLUMERIA.

Day 4: Drive Antsirabe – Ranomafana (275 Kms / 6h drive)

After breakfast. On the road towards Ranomafana, you will stop at Ambositra which is the capital of Malagasy handcrafts well known by its wood workshop and Zafimaniry arts. Visit of small factory of wood sculpting and marquetry to show you the local artisan know –how.
Lunch at Ambohimahasoa.

On the way to Ranomafana, you will spot the sceneries of central highlands landscape with its endless hills and valley decorated by terraced fields. You will feel the landscape and microclimate changes into tropical evergreen nature at the wet tropical rainforest of the Ranomafana National Park.  Upon arrival at Ranomafana, check in. Dinner and overnight at Hotel THERMAL.

Day 5: Ranomafana – Fianarantsoa (70kms / 1 hr drive )

After breakfast. Ranomafana National Park is an opportunity to watch, enjoy and satisfy your enthusiasm on the tropical fauna and flora.

Trekking for about 3 hours through this eastern rain-forest. You will see cliffs covered with very dense vegetation and crosscut by impressive cascades.

This Park hosts 12 species of lemurs; here is the only habitat of the Golden bamboo lemur, 118 species of birds, reptiles… This is also the second thermal site after Antsirabe. Many tours are offered and the choice is yours according to your interests, and pace.

After lunch, we leave Ranomafana to reach Fianarantsoa. Upon arrival there, the capital of Betsileo country, visit of the upper town and its historical sites.  Dinner and overnight at ZOMATEL Hotel.

Day 6: Fianarantsoa – Ranohira ( 375 Kms /  6hr drive)

After breakfast. Heading to Ambalavao to visit the Antaimoro paper factory and the wild silk weaving workshop.

If your passage falls on Wednesday, you will have the occasion to see the island’s biggest zebu market. Then, you have about 1hour to visit the community park of Ny Anja which is home of various lemurs species including the famous one called: the ring-tailed lemur. Lunch at the restaurant.

The journey continue through the gate of the South and the Ihorombe table land. Reaching the Ranohira village by the evening..  Dinner and overnight at SATRANA LODGE.

Day 7: Day in Ranohira

After breakfast. Visit of the Isalo National Park.  You will be certainly fascinated by the landscapes, vegetation adapted with dry and arid climate of this southern isolated spot. You will discover various plants like pandanus and palm trees.  A mountain of continental sandstone dated back to Jurassic will strike your curiosity, isn’t there the originality of the region?

Isalo, a site of escape, of quietness and serenity. One entire day to the visit this area and to enjoy its amazing biodiversity. The park is also renowned for its different sceneries as well as its great canyons and natural swimming pool. We will plan your tours according to your interest.
Picnic Lunch prepared by local people and the visit continue in the afternoon.  Head back to the Hotel and you can enjoy a lovely sight of sunset from your hotel room. Dinner and overnight at SATRANA LODGE.

Day 8: Ranohira – Tuléar (250 Kms / 5hr drive)

It will be our last stage of this tour. After breakfast, we will head to Tuléar, passing by villages of gem seekers. Along the way, you will see baobab trees and spectacular tomb of Mahafaly tribes decorated by of the Mahafaly aloalo. You will enjoy the arid landscapes of the Southern Madagascar. One the way, visit of Zombitse NP, stretch out over 16,170ha, you can discover the rare and endemic Bulbul d’Appert, the grey-tronked baobabs, ….

Before reaching Tuléar, you will make stop again at the Arboretum of Antsokay for one hour visit. Lunch at the restaurant.

Upon arrival at Tuléar, short city tour and visit of the seashell market. Transfer to your hotel, check-in.  Dinner and overnight at Hotel MORINGA.

Day 9: Tuléar – Anakao ( by speed boat)

Early breakfast, transfer at the great port then embark on speed boat to Anakao,  Vezo fishermen’s villages, pleasant beaches and beautiful site for diving. Humpback whales pass up the coast between July and September.

Arriving at Anakao, check-in at the Hotel. Excursion to Nosy ve, the islet shelters the only colony of the white-tailed tropic bird in Madagascar and is sacred location for the Vezo to perform their rituals. You will sail aside of traditional Vezo wooden dhow. The Vezo is a tribe but also a way of life. Originally nomade, they only live by the sea for the sea. Nothing else they know to do than everything related to the ocean. Back to hotel after visit and rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight at ANAKAO OCEAN LODGE.

Day 10: Day in Anakao

Breakfast, open excursions, snorkeling, diving, fishing or just by your own are on choices for your stay or enjoy the view of crystal clear water ebbing sandy beaches.

Day 11: Day in Anakao

Breakfast, day at leisure or free to stroll around. Dinner and overnight at ANAKAO OCEAN LODGE.

Day 12 : Anakao – Tuléar – Antananarivo

After breakfast, early transfer by boat to Toliary, then drive to the airport of Tuléar to �ly back to Antananarivo. On your arrival in Antananarivo, transfer to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hotel TAMBOHO.

Day 13: Antananarivo – Fly home

Breakfast. Drive to National Road N°3 for visiting the Royal hill of Ambohimanga. A site listed as world heritage by UNESCO. Lunch at restaurant.  A little shopping souvenir to give a lovely end of your trip in the Malagasy land before taking the flight back home.
