Description
This is a 16-day Africa Safari visiting Egypt, Kenya and Tanzania. The trip starts off at Cairo, Egypt. Tour of the Pyramids and the Museum is followed by a 4-night Nile Cruise before flying Nairobi, Kenya and onward to Masai Mara Game Reserve. After 2 nights in Masai Mara, drive to Serengeti for more safaris in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1: Arrive Cairo
Upon arrival our assistance will meet and assist you to finish all formalities then you will be transferred to your hotel, overnight at hotel in Cairo – Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel.
Day 2: Cairo: Memphis – Sakkara – Giza
We travel to Memphis, the first capital of Egypt. Here you’ll see the best and the biggest statue of King Ramses the great, one of the greatest king who ruled Egypt in the new kingdom.. In Sakkara we visit the Step Pyramid, constructed by Imhotep in the 27th century BC. We visit also tow Tombs of the Nobles.
After lunch we pay a visit to the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. The Great Pyramid of Cheops, constructed from over two million stone blocks, is 135m high. The Sphinx was carved from one solid piece of limestone and measures 50m in length and 22m in height. Overnight at Le Meridiens Hotel.
Day 3: Cairo: Archaeological Museum – Islamic Cairo
We proceed to the famous Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. Among the 100,000 pieces housed on the museum is the famous exhibit of Tutankhamun whose tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. We also see archaeological relics from the Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, New Kingdom and Greco-Roman periods.
We then proceed to Islamic Cairo where we will tour the Citadel, begun by Saladin in the 12th century. Here we will see the fabulous Mosque of Mohammed Ali, also known as the “Alabaster Mosque.” Overnight Le Meridiens Pyramids Hotel.
Day 4 (Sat, Mon or Thu): Cairo – Luxor – Nile Cruise
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Cairo airport to take your Flight to Luxor. upon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to embark on your luxury Nile Cruise ship. After Lunch You will start your visits by exploring the Karnak Temple, the largest religious Pharaonic temple ever built in the world, then visit the Luxor temple as well, which was dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Chons.
During free time this late afternoon, we suggest a visit to the excellent Luxor Museum or Mummification Museum. Tonight you may choose to visit the Sound and Light show at Karnak Temple (optional). Overnight on Nile Cruise.
Day 5: Nile Cruise – West Bank
Early this morning we cross the River Nile to the West Bank. Your first visit will be to the Valley of the Kings, the necropolis of the Pharaonic New Kingdom, including the famous tombs of the kings of ancient Egypt. Your next stop will be the amazing temple of Hatshepsut, which was used as a monastery in the Christian era.
Your last stop of the day will be at the gigantic Colossi of Memnon. These two 18 meters high statues are the only remaining items of the temple of Amenhotep III. Afterwards we return back to our Cruise ship. Start of the cruise towards Edfu. Overnight on Nile Cruise.
Day 6: Sail Edfu – Kom Ombo
After breakfast, you will have the chance to visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. This temple is the best preserved Ptolemaic temple in Egypt. The temple includes wonderfully decorated walls and stone capitals. We continue along the River Nile toward Kom Ombo.
You will visit the amazing Temple Of Kom Ombo dedicated to two gods; Horus, the falcon god, and Sobek, the crocodile god. Also you will enjoy the crocodile museum. Enjoy the evening as you continue cruising down the Nile to Aswan. Overnight on Nile Cruise.
Day 7: Road Trip Aswan – Abu Simbel (Optional)
Until noon you have free time. Optional: Early morning travel by road to Abu Simbel, We visit the imposing rock temples of Rameses II and his queen, Nefertari. The Temple of Rameses II is one of the classic images of the power of the Pharaohs. We travel back to Aswan.
At the Afternoon we have a leisurely sail on a traditional felucca. We ride among the islands dotting the Nile. Up the hill, above the river, is the Mausoleum of the Aga Khan. The main island in the middle of the Nile is called Elephantine Island because many of the rocks look like elephants bathing in the Nile. On the west side of the river is the beautiful Kitchener’s Island.
Day 8: Fly Aswan to Cairo – Fly Cairo to Nairobi, Kenya
After breakfast we disembark our cruise and make an excursion. You will visit the most beautiful temple of Egypt, the Temple of Isis, located on Philae Island on the middle of the Nile. It is truly an amazing temple, after that visit the High Dam in Aswan. Transfer to Aswan airport and fly back to Cairo. Later, connect a flight from Cairo to Nairobi, arriving Nairobi early morning next day.
Day 9: Arrival, Nairobi Kenya
Arrive Jomo Kenyatta International Airport early in the morning. After clearing the customs and immigration procedures, you are met by Hallmark Travel Planners representative and transfer to Tamarind Tree Hotel. Rest for the rest of the day. Later visit the Giraffe Centre and have dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Overnight at Tamarind Tree Hotel.
Day 10: Drive Nairobi to Masai Mara
Pick up from your hotel in the morning drive to Masai Mara. The drive will be 5 hours to the main gate. You will pass through the Great African Rift Valley and the famous Masai town Narok Town. You will arrive in time for lunch. Check in at Mara River Camp and have lunch.
Later afternoon game drive through the park in search of the Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo and other members of the Big five plus other animals. Dinner and overnight at Mara River Camp.
Day 11: Safari Activities Masai Mara
Early morning game drive and return back to camp for breakfast. After breakfast full day spent in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo and the dangerous Crocodiles with a visit to Mara river.
Meals and overnight at Mara River Camp.
Day 12: Road Transfer Masai Mara to Serengeti
Early morning breakfast at your camp and check out with packed lunch from your camp and drive to border Isebania Tanzania-Kenya border. The drive will be 3 and half hours to the border, arriving at around 10:40am. At the border, processing of Visa and crossing to Tanzania will take about 45 minutes, and afterwards proceed to Serengeti.
The drive will be 3 hours to the main gate. You will be with our Tanzania driver guide, arriving in Serengeti with game en-route drive to your lodge or camp. Dinner and overnight at Mapito Tented Camp.
Day 13: Safari Activities in Serengeti
This day is set aside for exploring the legendary Serengeti National Park on game drives.
This massive wildlife reserve is famous for the same annual migration as Masai Mara, whereby over a million herbivores move south from the northern to the southern plains of Serengeti, in the short rainy season (October and November), returning north after the long rainy season (April to June). Serengeti Park offers superb wildlife viewing year-round, so we should see plenty of plains game and predators roaming the grasslands. At the end of the day, we return to Mapito Tented Lodge (or similar) for dinner and another
Day 14: Drive Serengeti to Ngorongoro
This morning we embark on an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, before having breakfast back at the lodge.
Then we make our way to Olduvai Gorge, a deep ravine in the East African Rift Valley. En route we stop for a picnic lunch and enjoy game viewing. The gorge features one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, hosting some of the earliest fossils of our humanoid ancestors. We visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum to see the excavated remains of our ancestors, with Homo erectus remains that date as far back as 1.2 million years ago.
From Olduvai, we continue to Farm of Dreams Lodge (or similar) where we have dinner and spend the night.
Day 15: Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Tour
On day seven we enjoy breakfast early in the morning and dip some 600m down into the crater for an action-packed day of game viewing in this wildlife paradise.
Our 4×4 game drive takes us through the diverse habitats of the crater floor, where we encounter a variety of wild animals. While in the crater we have a picnic lunch. The Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for its high concentration of animals, with most wildlife species represented here. Due to the high density of animal populations, we are likely to see an excellent array of animals in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Ascending the crater walls after our game viewing adventure, we return to Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge (or similar) for dinner and our last overnight stay.
Alternatively you can opt for 2 separate game drives returning to the lodge for your meals. Meals and overnight at your lodge of choice.
Day 16: Drive from Karatu to Nairobi. Depart
Our final morning starts with a leisurely breakfast before we travel to Arusha. We take packed lunches along with us from the lodge to enjoy en route. Arriving in Arusha by midday, you have the option of concluding your safari here or continuing to Nairobi in Kenya.
From the Kibo Palace Hotel in Arusha we catch the 2:00 pm shuttle to Nairobi, where you are transferred to the airport or your post-tour accommodation. Parting ways in Nairobi, you leave the safari having experienced unforgettable game viewing in three of the finest wildlife havens of Africa.
