Day 1: Arrival Johannesburg
On arrival into Johannesburg you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your overnight stay. Overnight at Peermont Mondior.
Day 2: Drive Johannesburg – Hazyview – Kruger
Depart after breakfast and travel to Mpumalanga via the magnificent Panorama Route. From many well-positioned vantage points one has views of the Blyde River Canyon which starts at Bourke’s Luck Potholes and ends at the Three Rondavels. Time and weather permitting, stop at God’s Window. Late afternoon arrive at your hotel located minutes from the Kruger National Park, for check-in and dinner. Overnight at Perry’s Bridge Hollow. (BD)
Day 3: Safaris in Kruger National Park
Early this morning you will depart in an open safari vehicle for your first game drive through the park. At almost a million hectares, the reserve is the flagship of South African National Parks and is home to an impressive range of flora and fauna. Return to your hotel in the afternoon and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. An optional afternoon safari is available (at own expense). Overnight at Perry’s Bridge Hollow. (BD)
Day 4: Drive to Swaziland
After breakfast, travel to the Royal Kingdom of Swaziland. Enjoy a showcase of the traditional Swazi culture followed by lunch at a cultural village. This afternoon visit the Ngwenya Glass Works and continue via the Mbabane craft markets, before arriving at your hotel located in the Ezulwini Valley. Overnight at Royal Swazi Sun Hotel & Spa. (BL)
Day 5: Zululand Tour
Enjoy a morning visit to the Swazi Candle Factory before travelling into KwaZulu-Natal, arriving at your hotel this afternoon. Embark on an afternoon scenic drive with views over Lake Jozini and a visit to a local and authentic Zulu homestead for a glimpse into Zulu life. Overnight at Ghost Mountain Inn. (BD)
Day 6: Drive Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve
Transfer to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest game reserve in South Africa, for an afternoon game drive. This is where the white rhino was saved from extinction. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy dinner. Overnight at Ghost Mountain Inn. (BD)
Day 7: Kwazulu Natal Coast
Continue the journey along the Elephant Coast to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park – a UNESCO World Heritage site. At St Lucia, embark on a boat trip to view crocodiles, hippo and numerous bird species, including the elusive African kingfisher eagle, in their natural habitat. Today’s journey finishes in Durban. Overnight at The Benjamin Boutique Hotel. (B)
Day 8: Durban – Port Elizabeth
This morning you will embark on a brief city tour before flying to Port Elizabeth (flight cost not included). On arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Radisson Blu Port Elizabeth. (B)
Day 9: Plettenberg Bay
Depart Port Elizabeth and travel via the coastline to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River Mouth Gorge which offers incredible views and photo opportunities. Continue to Plettenberg Bay for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Hunter’s Country House. (BD)
Day 10: Plettenberg Bay
Today visit Birds of Eden – the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world. An optional whale and dolphin boat experience is available (weather and time dependent at own expense) before returning to the lodge. Overnight at Hunter’s Country House. (BD)
Day 11: Knysna and Garden Route Tour
After breakfast, enjoy a cruise along the Keurbooms River. Visit Knysna, the ‘Gem of the Garden Route’ and explore the waterfront area before travelling to Oudtshoorn – the feather capital’ of the world. Visit a working ostrich farm for a guided tour before arriving at your hotel for dinner. Overnight at De Opstal Country Lodge. (BD)
Day 12: Oudtshoorn – Cape Town
After breakfast take a tour of the Cango Caves – one of the natural wonders of the world. Leave Oudtshoorn, travel via Route 62 with a lunch stop in Barrydale (at own expense), before arriving into Cape Town early evening. Overnight at Southern Sun Waterfront. (B)
Day 13: Cape Point and Peninsula Tour
This morning you will be collected for your scheduled full day Cape Point & Peninsula Tour – an awe-inspiring tour with breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages to the towering headland of Cape Point. Overnight at Southern Sun Waterfront. (B)
Day 14: Cape Winelands Tour
Today you embark on your scheduled full day tour to the Cape Winelands. A delightful drive, winding to the heart of the region through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Overnight at Southern Sun Waterfront. (B)
Day 15: Cape Town Tour
After breakfast and check-out, enjoy your scheduled city tour showcasing Cape Town and the sights from its historical beginnings to the dazzling modern shopping malls of today. Your tour ends at Cape Town Airport. (B)
