Description
This is a 12 day Kenya safari covering some of the best known safari parks in Kenya. Transportation between the parks is by road using a customized safari van or Safari Jeep. The adventure safari visits Meru National Park, Samburu Game Reserve, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru and and Masai Mara. Accommodation is in affordable mid-range and budget lodes and camps, located places where adventure activities like hiking, nature walks, night game drives and village visits are permitted and possible.

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi – Overnight
Arrival Nairobi airport. After clearing immigration and customs procedures, you will be met by Hallmark Travel Planners representative and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi – EKA Hotel.
Day 2: Drive Nairobi to Meru Park ( 4 hours Drive)
You’ll depart Nairobi early morning by road for Meru, a classic savannah wilderness with a diversity of habitats ranging from riverine, to grasslands. You’ll arrive for lunch at the Leopard Lodge
Leopard Rock Lodge is a luxurious safari lodge situated on the natural beautiful park of Meru,Kenya. The lodge offers 5 star experience and service in the bush and in the wild. The lodge provides lavish lifestyle and is most ideal for adventure and honeymooners. Free WiFi is provided for all guests.
The cottages are beautifully decorated with precious linens, Persian carpets and thatched Makuti roofs. All cottages boast of en suite bathrooms, safety deposit boxes and large 82m squared outdoor terraces facing the river. After lunch you will head into Meru for a game drive, there are some fantastic game viewing opportunities here including cheetah, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk and the distinctive reticulated giraffe as well as the Big Five.
Day 3: Exploring Meru National Park
You’ll spend the next day exploring Meru, with its great views of Mount Kenya, savannah wilderness, riverine habitats and prominent inselbergs, notably Mughwango and Leopard Rock; offering some great photo opportunities.
Brilliant on a magnificent scale, the Meru and Kora sister parks feature luxuriant jungle, coursing rivers, verdant swamp, khaki grasslands and gaunt termite cathedrals all under the sky’s great blue bowl. Little visited and utterly unspoilt, few places are comparable to the remote and rugged atmosphere found here. Visitors can see Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos and more than 427 recorded species of birds.
Day 4: Drive Meru Park to Samburu Reserve
After breakfast, you’ll head to Samburu, a park rich in wildlife with its rare northern species known as the Special 5, which include; the gerenuk and Beisa oryx. You’ll head to Ashnil Samburu Camp, arriving in time for lunch, the camp is set on the banks of the great Uaso Nyiro River.
Each tent at Ashnil Samburu Camp sits on a raised wooden deck overlooking the river where the elephants sometimes make an appearance or the crocodiles come out to lounge by the river banks. The restaurant also overlooks the river and serves a high standard of food from its’ a la carte menu. After lunch you’ll head out on a game drive and then spend the next day exploring the reserve and tracking down the elusive leopard! Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Day 5: Explore Samburu Game Reserve
Enjoy a full day of safari activities in Samburu Game Reserve.
Samburu is a very scenic but lesser known park and is situated along the Uaso Nyiro River that attracts wildlife in from the surrounding savannah plains. This is a semi-arid area and can become quite hot but the park is rich in wildlife and is home to a number of large predators including cheetah, lion and leopard.
Day 6: Road Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, you’ll depart from Samburu and continue your journey onto Laikipia and the Ol Pejeta conservancy. You’ll spend 2 nights at the stunning, luxury Sweetwaters tented camp, set on the foothills of Mount Kenya – and with amazing views and close proximity to wildlife, it’s a wonderful place to stay.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located on a vast plateau and has the highest density of large mammals in Kenya; including unusual species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra and the Lelwel hartebeest, there are also seven rhino sanctuaries here and you may be lucky enough to see the now rare black rhino. Overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Lodge.
Day 7: Exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy
You’ll spend your time here on game drives during the day and night exploring the conservancy and an early morning guided lion-tracking experience, there will also be time to just relax in camp and watch the wildlife at the camp’s watering hole.
Day 8: Road Transfer to Lake Nakuru
Early breakfast followed by an early game drive. An early morning game drive on this day will give you an opportunity to witness the animal kingdom at its most active hours before later beginning our journey to our next destination, Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive on time for Lunch before exploring Lake Nakuru later on in the day.
Lake Nakuru is a famous park for its high population of Flamingos and other water birds. It’s also a Rhinos sanctuary and all the big five except the elephants. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.
Day 9: Road Transfer Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
After breakfast you’ll head to the grasslands of the Masai Mara. Rich in biodiversity and home to a large variety of bird species and wildlife, the Masai Mara offers great game viewing and bird-watching opportunities. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at lkeliani Mara Camp, located on a quiet bend of the Talek river, in the middle of the Masai Mara’s savannah grasslands.
Each Ikeliani Camp tent is a good size with an an en-suite, there is also a mess tent and lounge area and when you’re not on game drives the river location almost guarantees good wildlife viewing! After lunch you’ll head out for a game drive to explore the reserve and track down all the Big Five.
Day 10 and 11: Masai Mara Game Reserve
The next 2 days dedicated to exploring the world-renown Masai Mara. Each morning, you will head out for an early game drive then return to camp for breakfast. The rest of the morning can be spent in camp, you can then either have lunch in camp and head out for a late afternoon game drive, or head out late morning with a picnic lunch, returning to camp at dusk for dinner and an evening by the camp fire.
The Masai Mara is a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise, with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhino hide in the dense thickets and large rafts of hippo and enormous crocodiles are found in the Mara River. The park is also home to over 450 bird species.Overnight at Ilkeliani Tented Camp.
Day 12: Road Transfer to Nairobi – Depart
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi with lunch en-route to arrive early evening to your hotel or Airport.
