Planning a wedding can be overwhelming. The stress that comes with the entire process is certainly nerve-wracking. I guess that could be the reason they invented the honeymoon trip. Of course most people would want to think of the honeymoon get-away simply as a celebration for the newly-weds. That is perfectly right. However, this getting away could also be seen as a way of recuperation. A kind of rest, after a long and difficult process. Wedding planning can be tough, grueling, emotive, with energy – sapping arguments.
That honeymoon get- away should therefore be considered not only as a celebration, but also a period of getting some rest. With that thought, we have crafted a safari and beach honeymoon package itinerary that promise a magical safari experience followed by total rest and relaxation. The package is made of a total of 11 Nights in Kenya and Seychelles – with 3 nights in Nairobi, 3 nights in Masai Mara and 5 nights in Seychelles. See detailed itinerary of this honeymoon package here
12 Days Kenya and Seychelles Honeymoon Package
You arrive Kenya. You begin with a night at the newly-established Tamarind Tree Hotel, where you will spend the first night after arrival. The next day will be in Nairobi, visiting the Giraffe Centre and Elephant Orphanage nearby.
On the third morning, you will be on the morning bush flight to the world-famous Masai Mara where you will spend the next 3 nights spotting herds of elephants, leopards, and cheetah. You could even do the hot air balloon flight over the plains of Mara and dine in the bush if you wish.
After Masai Mara, you return to Nairobi for the next to get ready for the flight to Seychelles. Here, on one the Indian oceans vacation paradise, you will unwind and completely relax. There is nothing to distract you other than the occasional shopping break, nature walk, and spa or yoga session. On this trip you will get the perfect honeymoon package of bush and beach.
On this Kenya-Seychelles honeymoon vacation package, start the Kenyan part of the trip flying into Nairobi. You spend the first night at the Tamarind Tree Hotel. The hotel is a mere 3-minute walk from the renowned Carnivore Restaurant, 5-minutes’ drive to the Nairobi National park and 10-minutes’ drive to the Wilson Airport. At the Tamarind Tree hotel, you will get 5 star treatment at the price of 4 star that it is.
After a peaceful and restful night, you wake for a day of exploring Nairobi City. A slow and laid back day visiting the Giraffe Centre and later on the Elephant orphanage at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. At the Giraffe Centre, they are doing an amazing job of protecting the endangered Rothschild giraffe.
Here you can hand-feed and even kiss a giraffe from a raised platform. It is a place of serious work in terms of conservation, combined with pure fun while interacting with the lovely creatures. Read more about the centre here.
Not far from the Giraffe Centre is the Elephant orphanage. Run by The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, it is mostly known as a refuge for elephant and rhino orphans. The Trust’s Orphans’ Project has achieved world-wide acclaim through its hugely successful elephant and rhino rescue and rehabilitation program.
The Orphans’ Project at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust exists to offer hope for the future of Kenya’s threatened elephant and rhino populations. These particular species are struggling against the threat of poaching for their ivory and horn. This is in addition to the loss of their natural habitat due to human population pressures and conflict. To date the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has successfully hand-raised over 150 infant elephants and has accomplished its long-term conservation priority by effectively reintegrating orphans back into the wild herds, mostly in Tsavo East.
While you are visiting the orphanage, we encourage you to consider adopting a calf and help in the process of their rehabilitation. That would be a nice way of ending the day.
Wing off to the Masai Mara Game Reserve
On the third day of this trip, you take a light aircraft, flying over the Rift Valley to the Mara. For the next 3 nights, you are the guest of Ilkeliani Tented Camp, a luxury safari camp located in a prime location to see the Great Wildebeest Migration if you happen to travel between June and September.
Ilkeliani Camp offers a deep and involving safari experience. The tents are sited under clusters of shady indigenous trees giving an authentic Africa safari experience. All the tents are well-equipped with modern amenities and en suite bathrooms. During your stay at the camp, you will immerse yourself into the safari life. Besides the safari game drives, there are also activities like guided nature walks, cultural visits to the local villages and sun downer experience. And the ultimate romantic experience in the Masai Mara, the hot air balloon is not something you would want to miss.
Exit Kenya – Slip off to the Seychelles
By the sixth day, you may not have had enough of safaris in Masai Mara, but hopefully sufficient to take a break. You fly back to Nairobi for a night.
The next morning, you will be on a large plane, on your way to Seychelles over 900 miles way – for the final 5 nights of your Bush and Beach Africa Safari.
With its breath-taking combination of sights and sounds, Seychelles is a feast for the senses and provides the perfect setting for an exotic island retreat. You will be staying at Constance Ephelia Resort. We like Constance Ephelia for many reasons, but mostly because of the choice available for accommodation.
