Experience the highlights of South Africa on this 14 day tour. Your journey begins in Cape Town, the ‘Mother City’, and continues along the Garden Route with its beautiful stretch of coastline. Spend a few days in the bustling city of Johannesburg which is in a major urban revival and transformation, before witnessing the magnificent landscapes of the Blyde River Canyon, and ending with a ‘Big Five’ game viewing experience in a private game reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park.

Day 1: Arrival Cape Town
On arrival into Cape Town you will be met and transferred to The President Hotel where you will spend the next four nights.
Day 2: In Cape Town
Morning at leisure. After lunch enjoy a scheduled city tour showcasing Cape Town and the sights from its historical beginnings to the dazzling modern shopping malls of today. The tour ends with a visit to Table Mountain (weather dependent, cable car fee at own expense). (B)
Day 3: Cape Town and Peninsula Tour
This morning you will be collected for your scheduled full day Cape Point & Peninsula Tour, an awe-inspiring tour with breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages to the towering headland of Cape Point. (B)
Day 4: Cape Town Winelands Tour
Today you embark on your scheduled full day tour to the Cape Winelands. A delightful drive, winding to the heart of the region through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. (B)
Day 5: Drive Cape Town – Oudtshoorn
After breakfast depart Cape Town and travel via Route 62 with a lunch stop in Barrydale (at own expense), before arriving in Oudtshoorn – the ‘feather capital’ of the world. Visit a working ostrich farm for a guided tour before arriving at your hotel for dinner. Overnight at Surval Boutique Olive Estate. (BD)
Day 6: Drive Oudtshoorn – Knysna – Plettenberg Bay
After breakfast take a tour of the Cango Caves – one of the natural wonders of the world. Continue to the lagoon side town of Knysna. Proceed to The Crags near Plettenberg Bay and embark on a cruise along the Keurbooms River. Arrive at Hunter’s Country House where you will spend the next two nights. (BD)
Day 7 : Plettenberg Bay
Today visit Birds of Eden – the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world. An optional whale and dolphin boat experience is available (weather and time dependent at own expense) before returning to the lodge. (BD)
Day 8: Plettenberg Bay – Port Elizabeth
Today the journey continues along the final leg of the Garden Route to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River Mouth Gorge. Arrive in Port Elizabeth this evening and overnight at the Radisson Blu Port Elizabeth. (B)
Day 9: Fly Port Elizabeth – Johannesburg
This morning transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight to Johannesburg (flight cost not included). On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Protea Hotel Balalaika where you will spend the next two nights. This afternoon enjoy a Johannesburg city tour. (B)
Day 10: Soweto and Apartheid Museum Tour
Today you will visit the townships of Soweto followed by an afternoon exploring the exhibits at The Apartheid Museum. Lunch today will be enjoyed at a local tavern in Soweto. Return to the hotel in the early evening. (BL)
Day 11: Johannesburg – Hazyview
Depart after breakfast and travel to Mpumalanga via the magnificent Panorama Route. From many well-positioned vantage points one has views of the Blyde River Canyon which starts at Bourke’s Luck Potholes and ends at the Three Rondavels. Time and weather permitting, stop at God’s Window. Late afternoon arrive at your hotel located minutes from the Kruger National Park, for check-in and dinner. Overnight at Perry’s Bridge Hollow. (BD)
Day 12: Hazyview – Moditlo Game Reserve
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Moditlo Game Reserve. Spend 2 nights at Moditlo River Lodge for an authentic African bush stay. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in open 4X4 vehicles in search of the ‘Big Five’. (BLD)
Day 13: Safaris Moditlo Game Reserve
Enjoy a full day of relaxation, combined with the excitement of a memorable safari experience on the scheduled game viewing activities on offer. (BLD)
Day 14: Depart
Time permitting, embark a final morning game drive. Return to camp for breakfast and depart for Hoedspruit or Mpumalanga airports where your tour ends. (B)
