Fly from the Masai Mara in Kenya to the airstrip in the central Serengeti in Tanzania. Your camp, Serengeti Pioneer Camp is only 48 km away, about 50 minutes. This drive will be a great opportunity to see the area.
This camp pays homage to the mobile camps of the 1930s, a time when an African safari was truly a journey into the unknown. Serengeti Pioneer Camp’s ‘zero footprint’ and closeness to nature combine to make it a distinctive and individual place.
It has only 10 tents; all of which have en suite facilities including a flushing toilet, vanity basin, and showers. The tent interiors are designed to evoke the very best of an era long-gone but certainly not forgotten.
This safari is particularly rewarding from December to April when the wildebeest Migration is to the south of the Serengeti.
Located in the Southern Serengeti (within the Moru Kopjes area), Serengeti Pioneer Camp is ideally situated to offer superlative access to the annual migration and the ‘Big Five’ with sweeping views overlooking Moru Kopjes, Lake Magadi and the endless savanna plains.
Day 7 and 8: Safari Activities in Serengeti
We have another 2 days of exploring the Serengeti National Park. With lunch boxes provided, we will go ahead with game drives throughout the afternoon in the endless plains spotting many animals and truly realizing just why this National Park is so famous.
On one of these 2 days, you might have a change to glide a hot air balloon safari with champagne breakfast in the morning while in the air (optional). Later afternoon we drive back to luxury camp.
Day 9: Drive Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Wake up early in the morning, have an early morning game drive, then drive back to the camp for a breakfast and check out, with our picnic lunch. Have a game drive en route to Ngorongoro conservation area.

Day 10: Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After breakfast and with picnic lunch in hand, we transfer to the Lake Manyara National Park.
We head into the Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. This national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive, but shallow, soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.
The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions (rare), as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.
