Day 1: Arrival Tanzania
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport outside of Arusha, Tanzania. After clearing customs, look for Hallmark Travel Planners representative. You will transfer to your hotel in Moshi for the night. Booked on Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2: Mkuru Cultural Camp
After Breakfast, transfer to Mkuru Cultural Camp close to Arusha National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at the camp. After lunch, enjoy your fist cultural Activities at Mkuru. Dinner and overnight at Mkuru Training Camp. Meal included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3: Day in Mkuru – Cultural Activities
Full day of authentic rural life activities including wilderness first aid orientation and general traditional Masai bush life. Dinner and overnight at Mkuru Cultural Training Camp.
Day 4: Drive from Mkuru to Tarangire National Park
Breakfast at Mkuru. The rest of the team departs for Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is the least visited of the parks along Tanzania’s northern circuit, and it’s a crying shame. The park’s large elephant population, iconic Baobab trees, and diversity of wildlife make it one of the best parks in the country for taking breathtaking photos or simply basking in the beauty of the world’s largest land mammals.
Game drives through Tarangire are particularly thrilling during the dry season when the animals of the park must cluster closer and closer to the Tarangire River. This offers a great opportunity to see plenty of animals in one place and to witness the predator-prey relationship in action. Dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Camp.
Day 5: Drive from Tarangire to Mto Wa Mbu
Breakfast at your hotel followed by departure for Mto Wa Mbu area. This afternoon, take a cultural tour of the are in Mto wa Mbu, where the Miwaleni waterfall that falls down from the rift valley has created a green oasis. Passing some little streams you walk in the direction of the Papyrus lake, from where the Rangi people collect the materials for the mats and baskets they make. On your way you can see rice farming and visit Sandawe families who still make traditional bows and arrows for hunting. The walk can be extended with a climb to the waterfall at the rift valley. Just before sunset, drive to Osoitok Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Cultural Tours
Activities of today include visits to authentic interaction with the locals. Visit the bomas mostly on foot. You will take the medicinal walk that starts with an exciting & very educational walking safari across the nearby bush. Maasai warriors will guide you along their paths and explain to you typical medicinal plants, extraordinary trees, tracks and the local wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Osoitok Lodge. Meals included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 7: Safaris in Lake Manyara. Late Afternoon drive at Lake Eyasi
Early breakfast at your lodge is followed by check out and the you leave with picnic lunch boxes. Enjoy a day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other variety of birdlife. In the late afternoon drive to Lake Eyasi. Dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi Lodge. Meals included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8: Go Hunting with the Hadzabe – Late Afternoon to Ngorongoro
This morning, go hunting with the Hadzabe tribesmen. Cousins of the Kalahari bushmen, the Hadzabe share a similar click-language as well as centuries-old bush lore and an intimate symbiosis with their environment. In the afternoon, visit the Datoga tribes and try the iron-craftsmanship skills. Visiting the Datoga tribe will complete your cultural experience at Lake Eyasi. The Datoga are skilled farmers and craftsman. You will visit their habitat, and experience thier culture first hand. Be prepared for the experience of a lifetime. If time allows, you may also visit the onion plantations. In the late afternoon, depart for Ngorongoro area for overnight at Rhino Lodge.

Day 9: Full day Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Today you’ll depart early on a morning game drive down into the crater. Discover the diverse areas of forest, swamplands, lakes and open grasslands in this volcanic caldera that’s home to the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa. There is good game viewing year-round, as most animals do not leave the crater. You might also spot Maasai tribesmen guiding their cattle down the steep crater walls to graze. Return to the lodge for the night. Stay: Rhino Lodge.

Day 10: Road Transfer to Kilimanjaro
Begin your journey back to Arusha after breakfast. You’ll have time to stop in at the Shanga Project, a cooperative of disabled Tanzanians who make high quality crafts using recycled materials. Transfer to airport for your flight out.
